On Feb 14, 1945, F/O Hugh Fraser was credited with shooting down an Me-262, while flying RB281, coded 5V-X of 439 squadron. The flight leader, Lyell Shaver also shot one down. Both pilots from 5./KG51 FW Werner Witzmann and Lt Hans-George Richter were killed.
