Careful and clean work on this interesting piece of artillery.

Thanks. It is interesting to see how various armies innovated, or failed to innovate, between the wars. There are some interesting and obscure weapons from that period.

Album info

75mm Field Gun Model 1897 on Carriage Model 1897A4 in the service of the US Army. Modeled as a gun of Battery D, 151st Field Artillery at Camp Ripley MN in July 1939.

In the 1930's, the US Army modified many of it's WW1 French 75 Field Guns for towing behind trucks. This entailed replacing the wooden wheels with pneumatic tires mounted on disk wheels, replacing the axles, and removing the brakes.

Out of the box build.
