RDF195 was purchased in 1972 for US$250, 52,000 miles & set of winter tyres/rims included (for the Michigan winters, that's where the rust came from!). 428 cu.in V8 & 3-speed auto, on full detent it would upshift from 2nd to 3rd at 90 mph! Ran it for two years as second car & sold in '74 for $250.

The model was first built while I was still in the US and over the years/moves it had deteriorated to a rather sorry state so had been disassembled and languishing in a box for the last 30 years or so. I had the remainder of a can of Tamiya gloss black and should have decanted it for the airbrush but didn't, which was a mistake and so I ended up sanding it back again and using Vallejo model color. No polishing or waxing to better represent the real car. Hubcaps are not correct, but close enough.
