In the early 1980's the USAF began their search for an F-15 successor, the Advanced Tactical Fighter program. Lockheed/Boeing/General Dynamics proposed the YF-22 and Northrop/McDonnell Douglas offered the YF-23.
I had already built them in 1:72 when the first kits were released in the mid-90's but these two were for my half-scale collection.
