At the time a very cool car
I still think thay are

So if you build the one in your stash im sure it will be amazing

Thanks JV! I still need to fabricate the heavier bumpers which came on the later 1.5 liter versions. Also, this build could have done with a clear coat but I left it like this as the paint on the real car didn't have such a high gloss.

Great car to drive, that mid engine meant it handled "like on rails"! Needed mor power to really do justice to the chassis, though.

I have a friend back in enzed who is a hot-rodder from way back and also a big Fiat fan. He had an X 1/9 with the Uno turbo engine transplant and uprated chassis/suspension to suit - that is a real rocket to drive!!

Too kind, Dietmar! I see you have an F-5F @ 1/32 in your stash - I have the Hasegawa F-5E to build so I'll be watching for yours!

It will be a while before i start with the F-5, Richard... have to finish some other models first..

No worries, Dietmar, my F-5 will be sitting in the stash for another 10 years or so 😉. The biggies will be last out of their boxes (plus, I need to solve the outstanding question of where to display them)!

Album info

This is the 1/20 Bandai kit of a Fiat X 1/9 I owned in the early 90's. Not really happy with the colour or gloss level (it was a Tamiya rattle can), but the real car's finish wasn't so great, either.

As mine was the 1.5 litre 5-speed version and the kit is of the earlier 1.3 4-speed I need to fabricate the larger bumpers, so it's been WIP for some 25 years!! I do have a second kit in the stash, so we'll see what eventuates. Might be a new build.............
