Album info

The M9 ACE was the U.S. Army's attempt to provide earth clearing (Mobility) and ability to create defilade fighting positions (Survivability) support to forward mobile armored formations. Lightly armored with high density aluminum, the M9 ACE could keep pace with the M1 Abrams and M2/M3 Bradleys to provide support where and when needed. A significant advantage over the D7, D8 and D9 dozers which required semi-trailers to move about the battlespace. Only the dozer blade cutting edge and pusher were made of steel.
