German staff car is stopped at field police check point in France
Staff car is a nice Tamiya kit. Simple afternoon build with standard Tamiya good fits. I can’t speak for accuracy but it has enough details like handles, panels…. to look accurate. opted for simple feldgrau paint job as these vehicle don’t seem to have been painted in later camouflage schemes. Simple weathering because I imagine such vehicles were better maintained, at least looks wise, that other vehicles. Just a light coat of dust so it doesn’t look to clean. Build required some planning and multiple subassemblies to properly use figures and cutting window on driver’s side to have it rolled down. Also some modifications to the interior to fit everything properly.
I switched the figures and used MiniArt for driver and Tamiya one included in the kit as passenger. Both sets are pretty fine but MiniArt is one of those sets that tend to gather dust in your stash because you don’t use all figures in one build and can be used in only one type of dio/vignette. For me this is third build that used these figures, first one I’ve built 4 years ago and they were always combined with other kits.
Overall quite happy with end result.
