1957 Corvette C1 - wip

Album image #1
This is, what's in the box.

Album image #2
The color combinations out of the instruction sheet.

Album image #3
Some months ago, I already brushed the white wall tires.

Album image #4
Started with the 1957 C1. As usual I built components which are ready to paint.

Album image #5
After base coat, I decided to cut out the dashboard. I'm no fan of masking thus twice or so. The chance to get the paint ripped of with the tape is too high

Album image #6
Much better. So I'm able to paint it properly.

Album image #7
The painting of the main parts is done.

Album image #8
The base color is done. Nice.

Album image #9
The first layer of clear coat. It's not bad 😉

Album image #11
As you see, I painted the interior in a dark red as compromiss.

BMF is done. Ready for assembling.

Album image #14
Small steps to the finish line 🙂

Album image #15
It is done. A beautiful 1957 C1.

Album info

I have planed to have a couple of SILVER (Chevrolet) Corvette in my shelf. So I started the Project "My silver Corvette Collection".

In contrary to the 1953 C1 this was available in silver. Hooray! But if you follow the instructions, the sides weren't available in black. On silver it was only silver. My research on the internet showed me, that there was a dark anthracite. I guess, I'll paint it black anyway to follow the design thing of the Corvette.

It's necessary / important for me, to have all my Corvette in silver.

The other point is the black interior. Here it could be the same exception like on the 1953 C1: it probably will be red.

And nevertheless: modelling is fun and sometimes it doesn't have to be 100% original.
