De Havilland DH.98 Mosquito FB XVIII "Tsetse", 618 Sqn

Built as MM424 "H", a FB XVIII Mosquito equipped with a 6pdr/57mm autoloading Molins gun for anti-shipping and anti-U-boat operations in the Bay of Biscay. A special detachment from 618 SSquadron was sent to fly them, later joining 248 Squadron and one other. So far as I can ascertain, no decal sets are available for the machines whilst with 618 Sqn, so I used a Frog Boston set for the roundels, fin flashes and codes, and an Almark sheet for the serials. Unusually, so it appears, for FB XVIIIs, this machine (seen here before acceptance by the squadron) had shrouded b exhausts, which is one consideration which led me to decide to make it. Color scheme is medium sea grey with dark green disruptive pattern overall.
