Kawasaki Ki-61 Hien "Tony"

Scale:
1:48
Status:
Completed
Time spent:
12 hrs

Built OOB except for seat belts and a seat cushion added to the cockpit. I used the kit decals. Built for a WWII Pacific Theatre P-47 pilot who told me - "The only Jap plane I ever saw was a Tony which strafed my airfield. It was a beautiful sight until I realized it was shooting at me and I had to jump into a ditch." He missed him & his P-47 which he just landed and was still on the runway with the prop spinning.

Nice result! Did the decals go on without problems?

I picked this up for a few bucks - the decals were old so I just used the tail insignia. The rest came from a generic Japanese decal sheet.
