C-46 COMMANDO

Unsure as to whether I should do this in metal finish or OD. It served practically everywhere during the war, but most notably 'over the Hump', where it outshone the beloved Dakota because the Commando had superchargers, which the Dakotas did not have, which allowed it to operate with fewer problems at higher elevations.

I like the new box art. I hadn t seen it before. I hope the new parts ease the building. The OD OR NATURAL finish may answer itself! There is a straight OD finish that gives the build a C-75 look and the more Curtiss-ish wavy pattern. ...you cand probably find pictures with replacement doors and major components of mixed finishes, patterns and markings. Have fun!

I've actually got the old box art. I couldn't find it in the selections when I uploaded it to my stash. The box is falling apart, too, much like the box to the Dornier Do-24 was. I'm hoping that's a 'good sign', because I really enjoyed that Do-24 kit. This one appeals to my 'cargo cult' fantasy persona, too.

It looks like OD over Neutral Gray is de riguer for WWII Asian service. I like, any way.
