Kelly WellingtonOkay...I'm nearing the finish line and I've experienced a few setbacks. In all the taping for the windshields frames, I pressed down too hard and the rear wheel broke off. In attempting to reattach it, holding it in a pair of tweezers, I squeezed too hard and did the 'tiddlywinks' plink into the carpet monster. Also, in the gun barrel department for the belly pack? Well, only two barrels managed to survive to make it to the bellypack, and they are goobered with extra material that I'm afraid to attemt to remove because of the fragility of it.
And, now, I have come to the portion I've dreaded since I began....attaching blades to the hubs of the propellers. I have never done this before. Ever.

Gordon SørensenLooking good Kelly. I hate separate prop blades too. The cutting mat I bought does have a compass rose on it, so at least my props should be set up properly, it's the blade angle and prop tip in relation to the hub that causes problems. I haven't used it, but Pavla includes a tool to set everything up when you buy their props.

Kelly WellingtonI've been visualizing a 'jig' (to use the term loosely) made from a block of modeling clay, where I can cut in the angle at which I want to set the blades on the vertical hub, at the corner of the clay block. Thus, once a blade is attached, I can swing it out over empty space to position the next blade socket in the hub....I can see that getting the blades all on the same plane will still be a trick.

Kelly WellingtonHey! In working on the Beaver cockpit, I dropped a seat support onto the carpet. Since I needed the part, and intensive search was undertaken and the part was recovered. But, the big news was that in the process, the errant tailwheel for the Blenheim was found. All hail!

Kelly WellingtonThe attempt to reattach the broken tailwheel was semisuccessful. It finally glued back in place, but broke off again just days later. Net result: I've decided to remove the stationary post, redrill and insert the stub attached to the wheel...shorter tailwheel. Not accurate, most likely, but stable.

Kelly WellingtonOh...that glazing is a long, long way from my first effort, the Beech 18. It's still rough, but I think it's 'passable'.

Intent is to do livery at early Coastal Command, which I understand used the 'Sky' undercoat. Standard 'Sand and Spinach' above.
