Another “second childhood” project, replacing the long-gone KP kit in 1:72. Hopefully I can get the colors more accurate this time around.

Does anybody know of an "official" or at least consensus set of which colors would best match the pre-war camouflage? The box art here seems dark, a dark green, a dark brown and something like khaki, over a light grey. The old KP kit had very memorable box art, and suggested a brown somewhere between red-brown and chocolate, a more vivid green, a sand that's got an orange tint, and a very light grey. In fact, WWII German armor but with a darker brown and a sand rather than mustard yellow, looks not too far off. The light grey looks lighter than most. When I did the KP kit way back, it was a mix of Humbrol enamels that I've long since forgotten, but it looked "right"

Thanks to Oleg for the pointer to a page with some Gunze mixes for the colors that look "right".

Note to self:

C25, C338 - 1:1
C19, C21 - 1:1
C303, C120 - 1:2
C131, C369 - 2:3

Ordered all the Gunze colors, plus four mixing jars, today, from Super-Hobby in Poland. Have to say I've been very pleased with past service and, even if their prices aren't absolutely the lowest I can find, they have a wider selection than most places, which makes it easier to place an order big enough to get free shipping, which drops the effective price. The only downside is that every time I browse the store I end up with $500 in my cart and need to drop it by 2/3rd to avoid spousal retribution.
