To get smooth contures, a tissue was glued above the sheet structure.

after the wood glue dried out, I got a authentic looking surface.

Thanks! I really need motivation for that project. Next big step will be the noise reduction/fairing inside the cabin. I'm afraid. lol

Thanx Luc; I'd rather like to have vacu-formed bubble windows, but at the moment it looks like I'm going with the ones from the kit and the Chinook-parts.
