Belgian SAR Sea King
I took off the rear wall in the top right of this picture, as it blocked the cabin before the rearmost window.
During dryfitting, the benches were painted roughly on purpose, so I have outlines on the wall to avoid when adding decorations.
No plasticard yet, but this is my first time experimenting with brass wire (0.5 mm). Attached with CA glue.
After painting and dry brush. The starboard side is a mess but I got more control of the glue and dry brush technique as I moved to the more visible port side interior
For the center console, I used some small decals from the spares box and added sky grey paint detail.
The masking tape on the pilot's chair pulled the paint and primer with it too. Not sure what went wrong here, but the yellow plastic does not like the primer.

I had missed the collective so had to squeeze it in between chair and center console. I am relieved that it ended up where it did! None of my tweezers would hold it properly so I had to drop and shift it into place while the CA was drying.

I am really proud of this cockpit. Nowhere near the pros but a big step up from my first 2 models!
The orange bits are center pieces of a cotton stick. I still need to add some black lines to represent the stuff keeping it in place
The yellow is just some folded paper that I painted and glued, held in place with a black painted brass wire.

Following the lines as they are imprinted in the windows led to a bit of a weird result on the side window. Let's see if I can keep the paint off of the edges without proper masking.
Layer 1: the pink base for the orange and sand colors
After a second layer of pink, I started with the dreaded orange paint. MUCH better than when I did it without the pink base, this is only the first layer!
4 layers of pink, 3 layers of yellow, many layers of orange in.. Progress is not very visible, this is the part where I tend to get bored.
This is where the fun begins!
The side door is on, as well as still more layers of sand and green.. time to apply the first varnish and remove the masks.. or should I put the rotor base in first?

FreakThanks Bas! It may take a while though, as I am going to experiment with magnets and make some relaxing simple jets in the meantime.
Next up is making masks for the windows and then adding them all. Probably the most difficult part of model building for me so I may procrastinate a bit.

FreakHow do you make a rotor removable? Make the entire structure removable or cut off the thick part at the base of the shaft?
