It is 1945 on the Eastern Front: Operation Barbarosa is going well for the Luftwaffe, but the Russians manage to shoot down a Me262, salvage an engine and convert a propeller powered Yak to jet configuration using that single Junkers Jumo 004. It is under powered! The answer? Graft on the wings and engines of another downed Me262. Result? Yakerschmitt! This is my kit bashed 1/72 fantasy plane made by grafting the fuselage of a Pioneer2 Yak-15 "Feather" on to a set of random Me-262 wings I had laying around. I think maybe they're from Special Hobby? Stand courtesy of Matchbox! This was my first attempt at a scratch build.
