Note the side machine guns. Given you need to install these before you mount the fuselage section, they are fragile. This was true of the front and rear turrets too. I was able to break them off and had to replace each using a standard paper clip cut to length, super glued in place, and painted with gun metal. As these were metal to start, just too bright, I gave them a coat of MrMetal Primer-R before painting.
Entire plane was painted using an airbrush and Vallejo paints.
Painting the cockpit canopy and the turrets was accomplished with Tamiya tape carefully cut in while in place along with Liquid Mask by Ammo. Canopy was attached with Micro Kristal Klear from Microscale.
To ensure it sat on the front wheel correctly I used pennies to weigh the nose down. I created a place behind the cockpit bulkhead with sprue and super glued the pennies in after taping the together. Obtained penny weight from online and calculated the number of pennies required; Matchbox did indicate what the weight should be, so that worked out OK.
This turret was a challenge to assemble as it consisted of 7 parts.
The front and rear turrets were a challenge to paint as they had to be taped first, then the two colors were applied.

This turret was a challenge to assemble as it consisted of 6 parts. Just trying to hold these in place while gluing was not easy.
I only highlighted the panel lines on the bottom of the plane.
Given the age of these decals, I coated them with Liquid Decal Film from Microscale.
Instructions and decals provide two (2) other plane options:

Album info
This is a Matchbox 1/72 scale version of the PB4Y-2 Privateer. Based on the B-24D, modified for US naval requirements.
The kit was a challenge, given it was vintage 1980's tri-colored molded kit with little positioning points.
I still had fun making this model and would recommend it for anyone looking to make this aircraft for their collection.
