Engine is very nicely detailed, just make sure you face the spring rods the right direction
![Album image #3 Album image #3](/albums/img/3/6/3/1298363-38011-40-720.jpg)
trying different techniques for wood - wood grains draw with a pen for the floor, oil paints for the seat
![Album image #4 Album image #4](/albums/img/3/6/4/1298364-38011-24-720.jpg)
Seat base is wooden deck, and umber oil paint as wood grain
![Album image #5 Album image #5](/albums/img/3/6/5/1298365-38011-45-720.jpg)
The back shows better the wood grain
![Album image #6 Album image #6](/albums/img/3/6/6/1298366-38011-31-720.jpg)
The floor doesn't look bad at all, although if the marker was red or brown it would be slightly better
![Album image #7 Album image #7](/albums/img/3/6/7/1298367-38011-75-720.jpg)
The transparent wood decals work great, just weird that they are not properly shaped
![Album image #8 Album image #8](/albums/img/3/6/8/1298368-38011-86-720.jpg)
Machine guns are going to be painted with X-10 gun iron

All set for cockpit sealing, no stress so far with anything, this Eduard kit is very detailed and has great fitting
![Album image #11 Album image #11](/albums/img/0/0/2/1299002-38011-94-720.jpg)
The cockpit is very detailed and cozy
![Album image #12 Album image #12](/albums/img/0/0/3/1299003-38011-45-720.jpg)
No problems with fitting at all
![Album image #13 Album image #13](/albums/img/0/0/1/1299001-38011-39-720.jpg)
Closing the fuselage was easy and stress free
![Album image #14 Album image #14](/albums/img/0/0/5/1299005-38011-29-720.jpg)
Build so far is going great
![Album image #15 Album image #15](/albums/img/0/0/4/1299004-38011-25-720.jpg)
Ready for primer

Gluing the holders now so it holds strong
![Album image #18 Album image #18](/albums/img/0/0/8/1299008-38011-93-720.jpg)
Vallejo light blue coat

Painting white stripes
![Album image #21 Album image #21](/albums/img/0/3/8/1301038-38011-91-720.jpg)
Masking for the olive drab coat
![Album image #22 Album image #22](/albums/img/0/3/9/1301039-38011-75-720.jpg)
Adding the crosses under the wing, to simulate translucency
![Album image #23 Album image #23](/albums/img/0/4/0/1301040-38011-58-720.jpg)
The crosses do not need to be very accurate, they will blend in
![Album image #24 Album image #24](/albums/img/0/4/1/1301041-38011-54-720.jpg)
This propeller was done with deck brown, deck tan, and a great masking tape that lets you cut very thin strips, and bend them easily. look for curve canopy tapes.
![Album image #25 Album image #25](/albums/img/0/4/2/1301042-38011-41-720.jpg)
I guess primer on top of a photo-etch part wasn't enough to get enough grip
![Album image #26 Album image #26](/albums/img/0/4/3/1301043-38011-24-720.jpg)
The aviattic decals are nice, but the cone-shaped wheels make it fold, so you have to add a cut
![Album image #27 Album image #27](/albums/img/0/4/4/1301044-38011-85-720.jpg)
The cut is visible, can't to better than this I guess. I would paint the wheel if I knew.
![Album image #28 Album image #28](/albums/img/0/4/5/1301045-38011-17-720.jpg)
Adding the aviattic decals. They are actually very rubber-ish, robust and not fragile at all, they can take some abuse, but at the same time, they have a hard time to adhere.
![Album image #29 Album image #29](/albums/img/0/4/6/1301046-38011-60-720.jpg)
They look great, but they need to be trimmed, and they fold on the wing tips
![Album image #30 Album image #30](/albums/img/0/4/7/1301047-38011-35-720.jpg)
No amount of micro sol helps me with these folds.
![Album image #31 Album image #31](/albums/img/1/9/5/1302195-38011-38-720.jpg)
Using white decals for the cross background, as I do not trust the striped decals to withstand mask tape
![Album image #32 Album image #32](/albums/img/1/9/3/1302193-38011-87-720.jpg)
Engine ready with metal color aluminium, gloss coat and panel liner
![Album image #33 Album image #33](/albums/img/1/9/6/1302196-38011-32-720.jpg)
Tail decal. I place it properly, maybe a little longer in the water, because...
![Album image #34 Album image #34](/albums/img/1/9/7/1302197-38011-33-720.jpg)
..bubbles are showing up after micro-sol. This rubbery-like decals do not really conform nicely with micro-sol, instead it creates bubbles, so the whole decal job is botched maybe due to weak adhesive (too much time in the water)?, anyway, no way I am going to use masking tape on top
![Album image #35 Album image #35](/albums/img/1/9/8/1302198-38011-53-720.jpg)
The decal is resistant, but it can be scratched. It is easily fixed by butting some extra stripes on top, it disguises well.
![Album image #36 Album image #36](/albums/img/1/9/9/1302199-38011-13-720.jpg)
Ready for more decals. Note that the wheel winglet doesn't have an aviattic decal for it, so I had to make one. Good that they send a decal sheet big enough for 2 planes. This should be the rule.
![Album image #37 Album image #37](/albums/img/2/0/0/1302200-38011-95-720.jpg)
Ready for gloss paint. This olive drab color is quite different from the one in the decals, but also, since they are transparent decals, the final color depends on the light blue tone. All I can do is to mix olive drab with lighter green to tone down, but it will be very hard to match.
![Album image #38 Album image #38](/albums/img/2/0/1/1302201-38011-46-720.jpg)
Ready for gloss coat
![Album image #39 Album image #39](/albums/img/2/0/2/1302202-38011-15-720.jpg)
Gloss coat: levelling thinner + tamiya X-22

Doing turnbuckles
![Album image #41 Album image #41](/albums/img/3/9/2/1302392-38011-52-720.jpg)
Not that many turnbuckles, only need 4
![Album image #42 Album image #42](/albums/img/3/9/1/1302391-38011-75-720.jpg)
Werner Voss in 1/48 to join the party

Windscreen is in a film
![Album image #44 Album image #44](/albums/img/3/9/4/1302394-38011-69-720.jpg)
I was afraid that gluing all wings was going to make decal job harder, specially around main wing struct, but actually, the problem is that the top wing should be glued properly, and I had problems making it stick.
If I could do a do-over, I would glue all wings, cut the decals so it goes around the wing pylons, then apply the decals. The wing integrity is more important.

All ready for weathering with a dull coat
![Album image #46 Album image #46](/albums/img/3/9/6/1302396-38011-58-720.jpg)
Werner looks a little disappointed with the work so far
![Album image #47 Album image #47](/albums/img/3/9/8/1302398-38011-53-720.jpg)
Quick weathering: smear panel line around the wing ribs, then scrub the excess off with mineral spirits.
![Album image #48 Album image #48](/albums/img/3/9/7/1302397-38011-42-720.jpg)
Stretching sprue for cables, painting them with gun metal
![Album image #49 Album image #49](/albums/img/3/9/9/1302399-38011-31-720.jpg)
Doing stretched sprue because I want to use plastic cement, but with turnbuckes, I had to use super-glue, so there was no really advantage.
![Album image #50 Album image #50](/albums/img/3/9/0/1302390-38011-25-720.jpg)
Putting the air intakes again, with the help of a little lead wire. I removed them because they would for sure mess up the decal job on the fuselage.
