Tamiya 35009

Album image #1
Tamiya 1/35 armor kit No.9. 1971 tool.
The Eduard PE takes this basic kit into another level.. First foray into more serious PE that requires some "surgery" to the kit.
I wanted to build this old school kit but I'm not sure why I went this route. I could have found a much more modern Pz.II Ausf.F

I forgot to take any dedicated pictures after I painted the 1941-1943 North Africa camo. Two-thirds RAL8000 gelbraun & one-third RAL7008 graugrun. Used AK RealColours with lacquer thinner.

The Bronco Pz.Kpfw.II tracks did not fit the Tamiya sprocket 100%.

Album image #16
Tracks do not fit all away around the sprocket. I had to do some minor surgery to the sprocket to make the tracks hang..

I left the track build near the end. I modified the sprockets to get the tracks to sit properly...
They're marketed as workable track link but I knew they would be too delicate so I glued them. Built as two pieces each side as I like to paint & weather tracks off the vehicle. Instructions said 108 links per side but I only needed 99 links per side.
