Album info

Since I drove a Beetle 1303 in the 80's, I remembered many episodes with this vehicle, when I saw the Revell kit 07083 a Beetle from 1968. I decided to build the kit, the kit was complete and the castings were in perfect condition.
First I primed the body white (Tamiya primer white). I colored the interior with Tamiya gray primer. I put the parts aside to dry and mounted the engine. I painted the whitewall tires with Tamiya x-2 by previously creating masks with a circle cutter to cover the areas, that should be free of paint. I did the same with the rims, which got the orange body color.
Then I painted the body with a spray can of Tamiya TS-12 orange. Decals were applied. Orange was a special paint job for the 68 Beetle 1500. With glossy lacquer, the body gave the shine after polishing. I recreated the chrome parts with Barfoil.
Interior assembly after the individual parts have been painted in black and the decals have been fixed. At first I had the impression that the E68 roof liner with the D18 hand straps did not want to fit like that. With the 'wedding' the problem somehow solved itself. Chassis assembly after it has been given a black matt color by Tamiya. I put in the windows, lamps and bumpers, and now the 'wedding' took place. A beautiful car, the front trunk of which I have detailed in more details.
