Album image #3
Close up of the Primary Hull.

Album image #4
Close up of the Matter/Anti-Matter reactor.

Album image #5
Second docking port on the fan tail of the primary hull. Typical mission would have a long range warp shuttle docked here for crew escape.

Album image #6
Side View.

Album image #7
Impulse Drive on back of reactor pod.

Album image #8
Checkerboard pattern on warp nacelle tail indicates prototype undergoing trials. I bought striped yellow decals from a model rail road store, cut lengthwise to create alternating squares and offset the upper strip to match the lower clear sections to create a checkerboard effect.

Album image #9
Close up of bussard collector.

Album image #10
Close up of the booms.

Album image #11
Album image #12
View of the underside of the primary hull. Hatches for total crew compliment escape pods are shown. High resolution sensors, in blue, are arrayed in semi-circle.

Album image #13
Close up of the emergency impulse drive covers, surrounded by black and yellow emergency stripes. Same yellow model train decal applied over black surround. After catastrophic damage, the warp drive section is detached explosively, impulse drive covers are ejected, and the Akyazi escapes using stealth tactics.

Album image #14
Underside view of aft primary hull.

Album image #15
Passive sensors on back of primary hull cut-out. Workbee storage and additional escape pod hatch are next to the warp drive boom.

Album image #16
Overall underside view.

Album image #17
Close up of shield system spire. Capital ship shields absorb incoming weapon energy and dissipate overload energy through the hull, and via warp, and impulse intercoolers. The Akyazi shield spire attracts weapon energy overloads and channels it through the pod, grounding the excess power via radiators composed of classified materials.

It's a fan design. Though very well received, the book it's published in is not considered canon. Interestingly enough, this design was published in 1993, yet would easily fit into the design lineage between the NX-01 (ST:Enterprise) and the Akira class in ST: First Contact). This is my first scratch build.

Album info

Alas, the model was built before I had an SLR, let alone a DSLR. There are no construction pictures.
