Tamiya 88 flak

Album image #1
An oldie, but a goodie. I don't know how old this Tamiya kit actually is, but it is totally possible that this kit is from the 70's. The kit went together pretty good, but you can tell its an old kit. Almost every part had flash on it, and the plastic feels different than a newer Tamiya kit. All and all, it was still very enjoyable, and turned out looking pretty impressive. The 88 really is one hell of a machine.

I primed this with Mig One Shot. I normally use Tamiya Nato Black to prime my kits, but I wanted to try something different. The MOS works pretty well. I think its thicker than the Tamiya paint, but I like the surface that it has. I think I will use this primer again.

I painted it Tamiya XF60 Dark Yellow. I think it looks pretty good.

This is a much better picture. You can actually see the Tamiya XF60 Dark Yellow now.

I really liked how these came out. It's going to be fun to weather these.

I really liked the way this turned out. Next is to do some chipping. I want to make it look like it has been sand blasted in the desert.

My first attempt at two color brush chipping.

I don't know right now. It's ultimately up to my son. He builds them and then I paint them right now. He normally has an idea of a diorama, so very possible.
