Album image #1
Everything ready, let's give it a go, shall we?

Album image #2
One thing I did not mention is, that I decidet to replace the kit shallow "engine" with quickboost resin casting. Much more detailed and nicer

Album image #3
Some adjustement was required to fit the casting in the fuselage halves

Album image #4
quite a nice fit

Album image #5
To prevent the engine to slide inside the fuselage, plastic sheet glued in place to stop the unwanted movement

Album image #6
all parts ready for further painting and detailing (engine still need some love 🙂 )

Album image #7
Instrument panel sanded flat, painted white and then the thin foil was glued with the cover PE part (after spryaing it with tamyia XF-85 rubber black). Everything is glued together with PVA glue

Album image #8
Control stick and main cockpit painted.

Album image #9
this time, PE parts from the set were NOT used. (did not like them to be honest)

Album image #10
Album image #11
main cockpit is ready for installation

Album image #12
I will be adding some small parts to both halves of the fuselage. And after detailing the engine a little more, fuselage can be glued together.

Album image #13
Instrument panel and control stick glued in place.

Album image #14
and one picture with flash - just to see everything in there

Album image #15
control rods glued where they should be, painted and slightly weathered the whole engine

Album image #16
It's looking nice. I like it!

Album image #17
It's been a long time since uploading any progress.

Album image #18
wings and fuselage glued together - no major issues

Album image #19
small gaps between the upper transition between the wings and the fuselage - nothing major which a little bit of putty can't solve

Album image #20
aerials all prepared for the paintjob

Album image #21
small bits and bobs painted

Album image #22
main body finally painted with MRP colors

Album image #23

Nice kit, no major issues, few sink marks and small gap between the wing and the fuselage but otherwise very, very nice model. Highly recommended!

Album info

Another small 72 mojo build, just for fun.

The PE set is not correct for F4U-5 version (it should be for F4U-4). I know this and since I did not find the correct set for it, it will have to do. I'm not planning to use everything from the set anyway.)
And therefore do not expect " the right" look of the cockpit. 🙂

One other thing will be used - resin engine replacement.
