Hi everybody, Maybe it is easy for you guys, but can somebody help me with some ideas that how can I mask the nose section of the plane for the blue color? I wish to have it fairly symmetrical... Thanks

make a stencil for the mask of one side out of cardboard.
get some mask tape with a backing film so it is easy to draw on,
draw round stencil, flip stencil over for the mirror version, draw round that,
cut them both out and compare, redo as needed until happy with shape,
then apply 🙂

I reckon masking the white would be easier

Thanks. Yes, I would start the white first. I think painting white over the blue could requires a good few layers...

I've read something about a new masking tape for curves from tamiya (page is in dutch, but you can see what can be done on a DC-3 Dakota 1/72) :

That bendy mask line stuff is great but for this I reckon it might be quite tricky to get it symmetrical ...
perhaps use the stencil to draw a pencil line as a guide ?

I think my preference would be a single piece for each side as you can use the edge of the cockpit and the centre line as a guide for it's accurate placement. 🙂

Thanks guys! I think I'll try with the paper template version. Maybe start with printouts from the boxart, then cut it out from masking tape.
