The Tamiya MM-156 is an old timer and shows it. The kit was made with radio control in mind.
That is to say that when you start to assemble this kit you have to eliminate the big holes situated at the bottom of the hull, which were there in first for the radio control buttons , ease to battery input etc.
It was my first approach to armor, but also a chance to learn the techniques for filling big gaps and also use my newly acquired punch and die set tools to make some bolts.
I had also the chance to learn how to eliminate engraved details from the hull body and replace them with aftermarkets, such as tow cables and handles.
Secondly I used a descent aftermarket Track Link by AFV, kit No AF35094 to replace the old vinyl tracks. Another one, first approach for me.
Lastly I used the ACADEMY Tank Crew Figure set No 1371, with some Armand Bayard Trees and fences for the diorama.
