Slight set-back with the original decal scheme, current markings do not match current paint scheme. I put my own name on the canopy 🙂)) and it's gonna stay there even with the silvering!
Tried some home made decals for the first time, two different brands of decal sheet.
Paint: Mr. Hobby Lacquers, sanding in-between coats
Primer: Mr. Hobby 1200, sanded (model was meant to be hand painted and surface very rough)
Gloss Coat: Mr. Super Clear, not so much to make the decals stick as the paint was smooth enough to accept the kit decals without silvering, but rather, to repair the damaged clear-coat the kit decals came with.
My first-time home-made decals did silver, even using Tamiya Decal Adhesive. Regardless of silvering, I wanted the "Pull to open cockpit", "No Step", "Hoist", "Gun Camera" and "Ammunition & Gun Access" markings ... no matter how they looked 🙂)) Next time will be better.
