Thanks Stefan 🙂. The only discreet modifications are planned, like the alloys and the chrome 🙂

Hm... I don't like it when plans don't work out as they should. Attaching the frontwheels to the Silvia isn't as easy, as I thought 🙁

I'm quite happy to report that the figure doesn't sing like the idol😉 :-D

Wow! I've owned a few of those, very cool car & very cool model!

That's right, Howard 😉. I have actually never seen one for real. They seem to be quite rare in Germany, I don't know if they were even sold here. For sure, this'll get a British licence plate, when it is finished 😉

They weren't sold over here either. I imported it from Japan myself and sold it a few years later to a Danish guy who said they were almost impossible to get in mainland Europe! I have a Sileighty now😉

I actually live near the Danish border, there are some quite rare cars. A Sileighty is a cool car, too. Much cooler than my black Volvo estate :-D. But I think parts are quite rare, right?

Sorry for the delay! Most of the main bits are readily available and alot can be replaced with modified or uprated parts as the cars are so popular but there are a few things, like headlights that are very difficult to obtain!

Thanks for you answer, Howard 🙂. I got myself a "1:1 projekt" a month ago, but mine is not a Japanese sports car 😉. I can understand the problem of getting parts now :-D

Hi Lars, What you got yourself??

I've got myself a 1957 Volvo PV444. Here is a picture of my "Elsa", when I bought her: [img1] . And here is one infront of my daily driver: [img2] 🙂. It is fun working on this project 😉. Also it needs a lot of welding :-D

WOW!! That's a super cool project! I'm guessing its not that easy to find parts for that now!!

You're right - it is quite hard 😉. I'm searching for original taillamps...it seems that nobody in Germany has ever actually seen some. Some parts are very expensive, if they are available. I think I need to travel to Sweden, maybe I can find some cheaper parts there 😉.

I think you may be right! I remember watching a programme about the classic car trend in Sweden and they seem very into it so I would bet that you could get almost anything from there! Road trip!!! 😄

Yes - a road trip is planned :-D. I did watch "Wheeler Dealers trading up", where Mike Brewer was in Sweden. There was a scrapyard with old Volvos, Saabs, Triumphs and so on. When you visit a scrapyard here in Germany, you might find a boring MK II Golf - if you are lucky 😉

Haha thats the show I was talking about!! Didn't realise you guys got that over there! I quite liked the concept of the programme but I find Brewer a bit annoying! Please keep me updated on your 1:1 project as thats right up my alley!! 🙂

We don't have it over here - I found it in the internet 😉. I like the British television program more than our German program. Wheeler Dealers and TopGear are my favorite shows 😉. I've been in Britain for a week three years ago - I can't forget what a beautiful landscape it has 😉.
