Okay...I've got it together. It needs external metallic finish. I'm using MM 'Aluminum' for the wheel wells and struts. Airfix recommends 'Silver' for the external color. I'll have to pick that up, as I don't have it, but I have two 'Aluminums' and a 'Steel'. The boxart shows what looks to be a weathered, oxidized aluminum exterior surface....gray, in other words.

I'm open to suggestions. Just remember: I'm a novice and I'm hand painting.

I've got the first coat of exterior color on and the canopy attached, touched up, and unmasked. I must say that the MM 'Chrome Silver' was a new experience. After finishing of three coats of yellow on the Anson, and expecting to need three more, I was stunned that the Chrome Silver went on as one coat and, other than some sanding and touchup, that was all that was needed. Of course the MiG looks like it just rolled off the production line, or there was a massive influx of Party toadies to buff the thing. I'm assuming that the final coat of Dullcote will tone it down a bit.

Handpainting? You mastered it perfect! The MiG already looks good. Looking forward to the finals...!

coming along nicely - is this a new tooling or the very vintage moulds ( was my first model ever back about 38 years ago )

This is a new tooling.
But the most correct MiG 15 is from Hobbyboss or KP.

It has now had decals and a coat of Future. It is ready for the Dullcote finale.

Dullcote never happened. I decided I liked it 'shiny new'. I took it to work along with the Canuckistani Sabre and they now occupy a shelf above me in my afternoon cube. Office toys.
