Mercedes SLS AMG

The vehicle was first presented to the public in 2009. Under the hood is a V8 cylinder with 571 hp and 650 Nm of torque. The design is reminiscent of the Mercedes 300SL (Gullwing) from the mid-50s. The body is made of aluminum.
When unpacked from the box, all parts were perfect. I tested all of these too. I sanded all parts with 400 grit sandpaper or broke the edges.

Using construction instructions step 1 - 4 I assembled the engine (assembly 4) and painted it with Tamiya Xf-16 from Tamiya.

Parts A7 to A12 assembled after painting. (Assembly 😎
Assembly 9 assembled and painted with x-11. Chassis B18 painted with x-18. Assemblies 9 and 8 mounted on chassis B18. I adjusted the exhaust transitions with Putty.

Rear axle assembly: The parts were all previously painted with x-18 or xf-16. In step 29 of the construction instructions, parts B48 and B43 must be inserted into parts F47 and F42 as far as they will go. Otherwise the track of the rear wheels will not be correct.

I only glued part A51 in during final assembly. In building instructions steps 32-35 you have to pay attention to the size of the wheels. I painted the rims with x-18 and took off the shine with TS-80. I only carried out step 36 of the building instructions in 66. I previously tested and reworked the wheels on B46, B41, B23 and B22. This assembly must be carried out carefully as there is a risk of breakage in the axis system.
The rim assembly is also not entirely clear. The parts H52 H55, H58.H61 and C54, C57, C60, C63 must engage with the internal brake A56, A53, A62, A59 and with a shaped nose. The brake still has to rotate in this assembly.

I pre-assembled the body with the G65 and G69 gullwing doors, primed it with the pre-assembled hood assembly 45, part F73 and part F77, and painted it with TS-34. After applying the decals 5,6,2,4, the body was painted with clear coat X-22. S. Photo

I achieved the color x-18 under the hood in steps 43, 45 by masking. Therefore only a pre-assembly. Painting and final assembly of assemblies 40 and 38. Then installation of the wing doors as shown in construction instructions 50. Component E90 painted and installed in the body without rear-view mirror assembly 52. I had to adapt the A-pillars to the body in the kit. Otherwise, assembly 54 (dashboard) would not have been mountable. Maybe that's why there is an exclamation mark in the building instructions.

I glued the rearview mirror in before step 65 of the building instructions. In step 54 of the building instructions I used a carbon decal for color C. This also applies to the console part G107.

In building instructions steps 56 and 57 I added red decorative stitching to the seats. I added a seat belt on the left and right to assembly 58. Assemble the parts as shown in assembly instructions steps 55 to 60. Assembly as shown in building instructions step 65. In my kit, assembly 60 was slightly warped.

Part F72, H75 glued to body assembly 65 with decal. Marriage of chassis 36 and body 65.

Rear window and windshield mounted on assembly 65 after masking and painting with x-18. Tail lamps I111 and I117 glued. Side windows, license plates and front lamps installed. Windshield wiper assembly and assembly assembly 64,63,61,62 on the body. Finally H113, H115, H118 and the side mirrors 69.70 installed. I reinforced the side mirrors with a 0.3mm wire. (risk of breakage)
