A few mods to enhance the model building.
Can't do modelling without some banging sounds so got my old Teac Hi-Fi refurbished and got a Bluetooth speaker for on-line streaming as well.
All that's left is some better lighting.

Looks nice. If you want tons of light for a bargain price, get one of those garage lights from amazon.

The work area now is completed with a daylight LED overhead light and a modular draw system off eBay. These are laser cut and arrive flat packed, designed to fit Ikea Kallax shelving.

Daniel shown the one I meant at My personal Kingdom and other Hobbies | Album by Springbank (1:1) cost about 10-15EUR, and fits in most lamps (for example cheap ones from ikea). You get several thousand lumens at 6500K.

Just had a look, never knew you could get lights like that. I spent ages trawling Amazon and could not find anything so went for the lamp I got.

Living in a 2 bedroom end of terrace means space is at a premium. I needed a new bed, so 2 birds one stone, I've bought an Ottoman bed with underframe storage.
So far I have 47 model kits stored safe and secure with plenty of space for more (Why do we always buy more kits to fill the spaces?).
This leaves a void above my modelling area to fill so I'm thinking of another pair of wooden cabinets to house al the stripped-down kits I have lying around.
And as a side project, custom-building bedside tables incorporating a shelf over the bed level with my cabinet which will give me even more space to fill!

I have some nice long Ikea tables, but the space is ofc limited, and so ideally, if I ever got to build a house, I would make sure the table surfaces in my hobby room, had 80 cm depth, enough space for tools or tool-boxes.

Would have been nice to have:
A fixed drill
A milling machine
A sanding machine
A bigger and more powerful spraybooth

Totally agree with you Treehugger with a separate room for each item!
However I love a challenge like this so it's brings out my creativity

I think you are doing well for the space. I got one of those solid door wardrobes to keep my stash in. Now that it has been overflowing for some time, I have taken to putting more shelves up high.

Thanks Bill. My place is a rental so I am reluctant to put up anything that attaches to the walls

At last, new storage draws bought off eBay and fancy new chair from GSM Peformance near Nottingham.
Just a footstool and floor covering left to do.

Drawers are quite helpful as one's part bin grows. For the floor mat, I would pick a color that you will never paint a part. It makes it easier to find dropped parts. That and keep a flashlight handy.

Thanks Bill never thought of that

Album info

Living in a 2 bed house means space is at a premium.
So part of the main bedroom is my dedicated work space now with an added stand to accommodate the recently purchased 'Chopper' cutting tool and Dremel workstation with extra support for the 'desk' lid.
