I have never worked with resin and really have no clue what I'm doing at all. Should be terrible. Got the excess resin mostly sliced off and did some quick clean up on the body. This uses a lot of parts from the Revell Reynard as well as some scratchbuilt bits out of styrene. Started that process as well with the transmission covers at the rear of the car.

Did some light scratchbuilding of winglets in front of the radiator inlets and the air channels on the undertray. Now need to do some more filling and sanding and get some primer on it to see what it looks like.

Did you soak it overnight in Tyre Blech? That was the first lesson I was told about doing resin kits.

Yeah guys, like I said. No idea what I'm doing. Just stumbling through it and we'll see what I end up with.

Bossy, no, I did not. Wasn't told to by the caster either. I did thoroughly clean it. First in super clean and then a good long soak and scrub in hot soapy water. And I'm probably going to end up wet sanding the entire thing before I even attempt to put primer on it, so hopefully that'll take care of any residual release agent.

I was taught to soak it 24 hrs in Tyre Blech ( which you should be able to get at a car parts store), then thoroughly wash it with soapy water - be careful as those things are VERY slippery at that point - then prime and paint. The fun thing I have always experienced : if you do any masking, you never know how much paint will flake off when you remove the tape.....that gets a TAD annoying. Good luck. Oh! I drill all the necessary holes before priming.

Appreciate the tips and the heads up about masking. Fortunately this one is going to be all white other than decals. This is a cheater resin build just to see how badly I screw it up. Lol

Piece of cake!

We had forgotten about this one, had we not? I have been slowly working on it this whole time. Taking my time with cleaning and sanding and prepping. This resin stuff is a lot of work. Took advice from bossy and made sure all holes were drilled prior to priming. Slicked up the body and got the primer and paint down. Decals on this car are their own nightmare. I have plenty of experience with Indycals and while I appreciate their thin-ness for following contours it's also extremely easy to tear and wrinkle them. I was as careful as I could be but I'll still have to do some touching up. Now it actually resembles the car it's supposed to though. Time to start attaching pieces from the donor kit and trying to keep everything square and level. 😬 I work on this so slowly partly so I don't mess anything up and partly to try to keep my stress level low. More updates will come eventually.

Ooooh! That nose looks like the opposite of a piece of cake!

Great! This shape and design / decalling is awesome!

Mona, welcome! Updates will be slow, but know that it is always on my bench! 😂

Bossy, yes. The nose decal was not the most fun I've ever had but it's there and almost resembles what it should. Lol

Christian, thank you!!

I've kinda kept an eye on this, purely out of curiosity. I've gotta say mate, that's pretty slick! For someone returning to the hobby, from years ago, I can't imagine where your skills are going to take you, in the future? Nice work mucca 👍

Thank you Guy and Laurent!

Bozzer thank you, it's been a slow grind coming back into the hobby and I've just tried to learn a bit more each year. I just hope to keep the trend going!

Kyle, I said the exact same thing, when I became an international adult star. Unfortunately, it was short-lived, because glue fumes have some strange affects, on the human body? 😉

🤣🤣 Ah yes, can cause problems across the board. I'm sniffing some now and have no idea what's going on.

Some further progress on the slow and steady Eagle project. Rear lower suspension mounted, front lower suspension mounted and shock rods mocked up. That all has worked out. This is all drilled and pinned to the best of my limited abilities. I'll get the top suspension mounted. Really starting to come together

Front and rear suspension finally complete after much cursing and gnashing of teeth. It's all pinned in there though so I don't anticipate any future suspension failures. Now I'll do some detail painting. Ti silver on mounting points probably just to accent it a little bit as well as some touch up paint. Once I get back home I still need to paint the nose wing blue and the roll hoop and rear wing red. They're already primed but I had to come on this work trip before I could get to them. This has been a very slow process from the start but I'm really enjoying it. Totally different for me.

My goodness, this has gone on for awhile. No matter. We take another step forward today. And the end is drawing ever closer. Wheels are just on there for mock up purposes, so those need attached. It needs a steering wheel, windshield and rear wing and a few more decals and we're there! I have more resin in my future and this was an excellent way to dip my toes in.

All finished finally. I have no complaints and I learned a ton. It's not perfect but it's good enough for who it's for. I will chalk this up as a success and try some more resin stuff moving forwards. A most interesting experience.

You did good mate! She's come out perfectly, ready to race. I bet there's some weight in her though?

A master level finish on what seems to be a difficult kit. Pure eye candy.

Thanks Bozzer. Rather weighty for sure. I've actually been considering putting a couple of those clear little rubber dots on the bottom to keep the weight off the suspension.

I'm sure my wife is convinced I'm quite insane enough already Bozzer. 🤣

Christian, it absolutely was a great looking design and livery. The gentleman over at AAR nailed the aesthetics.
