Let's begin.... upper one is Dragon, lower one Tamiya
following the Royal model Instructions, I added a rood in the lever of the tamiya one. it was later removed. I will not make that mistake in the second one....

had to make a piece from left over PE to hold that plate. the Royal Model piece did not make any sense, and the Instructions are useless....
same modification done to the tamiya
same modification done to the tamiya
instead of removing details from plastic parts, sanding, etc, I choose to make those parts from scratch, using aluminium and brass. Red color is to differentiate the sets
handles in the wheels broke, so replaced with metal. shafts in resin replaced with metal. slow progress...... (repositioning needed for the lower lever)
first attempt at using solder with PE, the left set needed a lot of cleaning and sanding, but the second did go much better.... it was nice to get it done in the biggest parts of the model, the rest, are all with CA glue, but i may use soldering again, that is for sure
macro is unforgiving, but in real life is starting to look good. i fixed a few things later
quite some work to get to this point, but i think the improvement compared with the original plastic parts is clear. and they are not yet finished
handels made with metal wire, a lot more durable than the plastic parts.
