There's something about Italian cars. doesn't matter if it's a little Fiat or a Ferrari, i love them all 🙂 the same with old british cars. especially zagato styled bodies. i'm drooling just thinking about it 🙂

Steve Wilson
Alex, my man...
One of my favourite Italian cars I ever owned was a little Fiat 500, it was fun, women loved it. It forgave me relentlessly, for any abuse, I inadvertantly gave it... Gosh!!! I miss my little Luigi🙁
My favourite British Car I owned was a Triumph TR3 Beta, the biggest babe puller I have ever had😛
6 May 2013, 20:33
Alexander Aristides Cronvall
Cute little cars 👍 the Triumph TR3 Beta i think is worth quite a lot of money these days. i've only owned boring cars. first i had a 2004 peugeot 206 GTI, girls loved it i hated it in every possible way. then i got a 2005 Honda civic type R which i still got today, completely converted to trackday use from the drivetrain, suspension, engine, brakes.... it's terrible in every way on the road unless your 18 and got a spine made of steel. but i've invested too much time and money to sell her with a clean conscious, so i just have to live with it 🙂 then for a short time i had a 911E from 1972 with a DP motorsport body kit on it. spent 2 year to rebuild it and get it in shape. when it finally was was ready i had to sell it to pay my mother's hospital bills. life is great !! but it's time to start up a new project soon. and this time it's going to be italian all the way 🙂

Ooooh!!! Alex.
I've had 2 Peugeot's and both were the biggest heap of crap I've ever owned, not a fan of French cars I'm affraid, having said that I did own a Citreon DS from the fifties, I think '57. That was a nice car. I was also offered a Dauphine, which I turned down...
My TR3!!! man I really loved that car I had it sprayed Ferrari Red, my tribute to the car that captured my passion. Yes!!! Alex, I kick myself everytime I reminisce about that car, changing hands for over GBP £20.000 now🙁
In my time I've renovated 2 MGB's and a C, 2 Triumph Spitfire's MK1's, 1 Triumph Vitesse, Triumph GT6, 3 Mini cooper's, Ford Anglia 105E Deluxe, Ford Lotus Cortina Mk1 and couple of Jaguar XK150's plus some I can't remember off hand... I had a team of experienced professional, in the business mates, who helped me out, my thanks must go too John Blair, one of the best welders I've ever had the pleasure to call on... I'll sort some pics out, if I can find em!!!
Hey!!! sorry you had to sell the car, but Mum's are worth it😢

i drive a fiat tractor on the farm, girls hate it!!
7 May 2013, 11:14
Steve Wilson
Hi unc...
I did have a John Deere 830 Diesel, from the fifties, I used to use around the yard, towing old vehicles, I was using for spare parts. Definitely not a babe puller... But did attract Grease, Grime, Dirt amongst other unsavoury items😛
7 May 2013, 11:43
Alexander Aristides Cronvall
Maybe a Lamborghini tractor or a John deere tractor will do the trick. i know a lot of girls are running around in shirts and hats with the John deere logo on. don't know if it's the machines or the deer they like tho. @Steve not really sure if rosso corsa is the right paint job for a Triumph😉 all british cars must according to law be in dark british racing green, just as all Ferraris must be Red 🙂 The Citroen DS is a cool car, or the toad as we call it here 🙂 i´m never ever going to own another french car in my life but some of them are quite charming. it's an impressive list you have there, i wish i had more time and space to have a project that i could work on from time to time. but i guess the models are a form of substitute for that 🙂 i do all the welding and sheet metal work myself on my cars, but it would be strange if i didn't seems i am a welder. but all major engine work i let my friends do. they have the right knowledge and competence for that bit. and yes you do what you have to do when it comes to family. sadly she passed away 2 months ago, but she always said that i must replace that car as soon as it was possible, and that's exactly what i'm going to do, if i just could stop spending all my money on plastic cars😉

Sympathies Alex...
I know how I felt when my Mum, who I was extremely close too, passed away...
7 May 2013, 13:52
Alexander Aristides Cronvall
Thank you. i guess we're all gonna go through it sooner or later. but it gets you a bit harder when it's someone as close as your parents. but at least there's cars to look at and drive when it's time for some male thinking time. at least it's better than going down to the pub.
7 May 2013, 16:47
Stefan Suessemilch
👍 Alex... my father did just that a lot....(pub) My wife is also very glad... it's even better to smell paint & glue than alcohol😉

Hi Stefan and Alex.
I don't like Football. I do like a drink, but I don't go down the Pub. I'd rather stay at home and enjoy a drink with my wife and do some model building at my workbench, or watch the Grand Prix, which I'll be doing this weekend, starting with first practice this friday for the Spanish GP... Forza Ferrari8)
7 May 2013, 19:05
Stefan Suessemilch
Yep Steve... I vote for Fernando as it'll be his home Grand Prix. On the 25th I have to watch football. As a former Dortmund resident guess which team I'll support😉

8 May 2013, 07:13
Alexander Aristides Cronvall
I tried watching football once, worst 4 minutes of my life 😎
8 May 2013, 07:21
Steve Wilson
Ouch! Alex.
4 MINUTES!!! a match is that long😮😠
8 May 2013, 08:00
Alexander Aristides Cronvall
I can honestly say that i dont even know how many players there is on the field, and i don't know what offside and all that means neither. i've tried so many times to get the point in that sport but after 4 minutes im watching everything else but the game. i can understand why women watch it, but gathering a bunch of mates drink beer and watch men in shorts roll around on a grass field is something i just can't understand 🙂

Steve Wilson
@Alex.
I love the unveiling ceremony of a new kit, with me it's almost religous, I also pour a glass of Champagne to welcome the new kit to my fold.😄😄😄

9 May 2013, 06:42
Alexander Aristides Cronvall
It really is religious ceremony 🙂 one thing i really liked about this box was that it has a closing flap on the lid, my other mfh boxes don't have that so that was a happy surprise 🙂 but im sure im going to wear that out as well since i can't keep my fingers away 🙂
9 May 2013, 09:04
uncle chop chop
isent it funny how that smalest things make a big impression on us in a passion we love, its been ages since i touched a kit or smelt that glue i miss it dearly
9 May 2013, 11:21
Alexander Aristides Cronvall
it's a drug. once you tasted it your hooked 🙂 when i take a walk in the city i'm constantly being reminded of models. doesn't matter if its a boat, car, bike. my brain automatically want to know if it's available as a model 🙂 but now i haven't built anything for 2 months since everything is packed in boxes around the house due to a splendid idea that i should redo my man cave witch i don't have time to complete.
9 May 2013, 11:51
Steve Wilson
I agree it is a drug, but it depends on where in your life you took it up, as to how addictive it is. I was six, I've had just over a year off, I'm back due to serious withdrawl symptons😠
It's interesting Alex, I also am reminded of models in all walks of life, walking, shopping, TV, museums, holidays. I see all different types of Vehicles, Planes, Boats/Ships and Trains, also picturesque views, buildings, trees, even People, I think is it possible to model that. It makes all types of ideas buzz around inside my head, dioramas, scenes anything...
9 May 2013, 14:56
Alexander Aristides Cronvall
The funny thing is that i'm not really sure if i like modeling or not. i think i'm just doing it as a substitute for the real deal which is too expensive. and since i'm already reading about motorsport and cars every day why not build a little car as well. painting and cementing parts together is quite boring to be honest :/ it's the research and the history i like. the finished model on the shelf is just a bonus 🙂
9 May 2013, 15:10
Dirk Heyer
