Got this a couple days ago, already nearly built - so far very impressive. I'll put up a build video soon. The photoetch is fairly comprehensive and the moulding at 1/144 scale is also very fine, particularly the decks and guns, but also the raised detail on the hull.

I'd love to know if it's worth paying double what the revell costs in terms of what you get for your money.

I don't think its worth double Luke - side by side with my Revell kit, the only difference is the detail in the PE set which is quite petite, but takes an age and a half to bend/fold/glue and fix to the model, whereas the Revell kit can be built in a few hours for no fuss.
For a beginner I would definitely not recommend the Trumpeter kit....

Yeah it seems to me you're right. The only part of the trumpeter kit I really want is the PE railings to replace the nasty overscale revell version but I suppose I can look past that! Cheers Chris
