Mike McCabe added the L'Arsenal PBY-5A Catalina (1:350) to his stash.

Urban Gardini It should've been moulded in clear resin instead considerin' the big glass bulbs that is so distinctive for the PBY-5
11. August 2013 at 10:28:03
Mike McCabe I don't think clear resin is any use in this type of casting, it is a different sort of material. I have never seen it used.
11. August 2013 at 10:44:50
Urban Gardini It should work fine! The clear resin that I've seen so far have been of good quality n' some modern 1:350 kits have their planes in clear styrene so why not...
11. August 2013 at 11:10:00
Mike McCabe Because those in 350 are styrene, not resin!
11. August 2013 at 11:37:02
Urban Gardini Yes but I've seen clear resin moulds as well n' it would work. I even know of one builder that makes a lot of own moulds for his dioramas n' he uses clear resin.
11. August 2013 at 12:09:25
Mike McCabe Then if you think so I recommend carefully removing any parts which should be clear with a fine saw and casting in clear resin.
