IPMS Canada include the occasional decal sheet with the quarterly Rand Thoughts magazine. A couple of issues ago, there was decals for a Snowbirds Aerobatic Team support T-33.
I picked the kit up for a good price at HeritageCon XVI.
The decals for the instrument panel basically dissolved on contact with water. I was hoping Yahu or somebody make aftermarket, but I don't see any listed.
Not sure what colour to use for the seatbelts… this was during the early-mid '70s, and thinking either Black or a Dark Green.
I used the last of my Humbrol Metalcote on the gear and wheels. I ran out of Humbrol 32 Dark Grey that I usually use for Tires, but I have some AMMO by Mig Tire and Rubber acrylic that I am going to use.
One of the wingtip tanks had a noticable 'dent' and was a little short-shot. Sorted that out with some Tamiya Filler.

Don't know if you knew but on one of these planes in Finland they used all Dornier Do 22 floats as a retrofit!

That is interesting, Djordje. The Do 22 is a little bit heavier, so I assume the floats were a bit bigger than the ones I am using.
Got the wings mounted, used a little Perfect Plastic Putty for the gap between the top of the fuselage and the wings.
Drilled holes in the tail and fuselage for the flying wires. Attached the E-Z Line to the bottom of the fuselage on one side, ran the Line through the horizontal stab, vertical stab, the other horizontal stab, and glue into the fuselage. The holes I drilled are a little too Big, will have to use a little putty.

I mounted the lower wing to the fuselage, but figured I would leave the top wing off for ease of painting.
I painted the horizontal stabilizers/elevators with Humbrol Metalcote. Let dry and then masked off the tips for the red.
Painted each wingtip with Humbrol 19 Red. Did three coats to get a nice deep red. Had a bit of bleed under the tape, so cleaned that up. Let it dry for a couple days and them masked the wingtips.
Painted the airframe with Humbrol Metalcote. Had to do a touch-up in a couple areas, so sanded with 4000 Grit and then sprayed another layer. Added the top-wing, and had to do a bit of putty-sand-repeat to get a good fit. Finished painting the entire airframe.
Was all excited to start decalling when I realized that the decals don't fit. They are labelled as 1/72, but seem closer to 1/61… Sent an e-mail to BS Modelle, and they are hopefully sending replacements.

Found some resin seats for the Hunter - PJ Productions MB Mk.4 Ejection Seat.
Painted with Tamiya Black, Seat cushions with Humbrol 250 Sand, highlighted with a PrismaColour Silver Pencil.

Decals applied. Used numerous stencils and other markings from the spares box, and Royal Canadian Navy markings from AboveBelow Graphics.
This was originally going to be my entry in the 'Tarp' Groupbuild for the Just Making Conversation podcast. We were suppose to have them done and presented at Telford. Last year… Little late to the finish line, but pleased with the result.

Lost the exhausts somewhere, replaced with a set from an Airfix Mk.IX in the stash. Highlighted the panellines with an Architect Pen, then a coat of Testors Dullcote.
