Holger i'll sign this one and send it to you, once i've kicked the bucket you'll be filthy rich! 😄

Sören you mean to use the paints like this instead of the primer? yeah, why not - should make things even more interesting.

Yeah exactly.
Could be modern art then😉

I would be interested to know how you got your airbrush to make such accurate line and tiny shades. Kicking the bucket??? What a Pharse 🙂 🙂 🙂

ooh man, lotsa folks wishing me *well* shame, shame.... 😄

@Nikolas, kit is problematic mate. every joint needs putty and sanding - no exception. i suppose that's the reason why the panel lines are so deep, Revell being Revell must have anticipated what's going to happen!?

@Melf, sparmax 0.2mm airbrush, tamiya flat white mixed with tamiya flat base * 3x IPA for thinner. air pressure less than 10.
Shades: airbrush crown touching the surface BUT the airbrush is almost parallel to the surface, this is the result. you'll have to be precise with the trigger of course.
Mottles: well mottles 😄 same as above but this time perpendicular to the surface and very rapid and erratic movement over the surface otherwise mottles turn into spots into spiders, evident in quite many places.

Currently i am busy with the weathering, filters and washes so far. Now i'll go with the dirt accumalation and than the panel line touchups.

i'm humbled by all this reaction. 🙂

@Holger: about the loadout i really took my time to decide what to do, problem was *almost* entire reference pictures that i came by on the net has the 164 totally naked, in just 1 of them there was the glove pylon, but nothing was hanging from it. scale modeling is of course for fun for me but realism in loadout is something that i pay attention to if possible and in this case i thought i have made enough effort in searching so it's justified - FOREWARNED anybody who comes up with a loaded picture of the 164 will be shot! 😄
