The fuselage seams were finished with Nitro putty
Surprise! The wing center piece doesn't really fit on the fuselage either....
Wings were scraped much thinner so as not to be twice as thick as the control surfaces!
The molded coolers on the underside must be removed
If you build the landing gear bay according to plan it looks like this;

After I had removed about 5mm from the top edge of the landing gear bays, the wings could be installed
The wing connection to the fuselage requires a little filler
... as well as the transitions to the engines
Some details (which were a bit washed out at the factory anyway) had to be added after the filler areas had been sanded
The manufacturer had forgotten the landing light, but a replacement was quickly created

A light pre-shade was followed by painting with Vallejo metal paints
The kit decals were absolutely useless, but I had already decided at the beginning to finish the model as "D-AXAV" with the name "Köln".

I always found the Heinkel 111 in its early design as a Lufthansa passenger aircraft very appealing.
You rarely see built copies of the Roden kit, which could be explained by the “quality” or “accuracy” of the components!
As part of a group build at the Cologne Model Building Forum, I dared to build it...
