JWJennifer, I usually paint flat finishes for aircraft. I had to talk to some car modelers to get hints and tips on gloss finishes. It takes a lot of sandpaper with 2 extra 0s on the right like 4000, 8000, 12000. I have a pre-war Dauntless in silver and yellow USMC markings that will need a similar finish.

JWPierre the rigging is done using GasPatch resin or metal turnbuckles, hand made eyes from fine copper wire, Infini Aero Rigging and .5mm Albion Alloys micro tubing. You can look at some of Bughunter's work here on Scalemates to get a better idea of how it is done or look at some of the build logs from Mike Sandbagger Norris at mikesww1aircraftmodels.com/about.html The props are just 7 pieces of alternating color wood veneer glued into a blank and then cut and sanded to shape. Right now it is taking about 2 hours to get one prop ready for stain and varnish. I'm hoping to get that time down a little.
