mig-3 green/black

instrument panel is primed in black and there is no decal included for this part. so some paint and pva glue to simulate glass. 

Made some seat belts for the seat. 

The colours for the cockpit are not in the instructions. And online are some pictures but still it's not clear to me what colours are used so i used a dark green for the floor and seat. 

I used this light blue flanker colour for the side walls. 

I like the end result. 

Radio comparment painted with the same blue colour. 

Alluminium colour for the inside of the air intake. 

Really happy with the prop of the plane. Really amazing what you can do with a airbrush. 

Pretty good detail on the tail wheel but you can't see it in the end result. 

Although the plane is pretty simple I like how the cockpit fits in the fuselage. 

some putty is needed on the underside. 

Decided to make some modifictions in the cockpit. This bar where the sight is mounted is pretty noticable in real life reverence pictures, So i made it from metal wire and some streched sprue. 

Wings added 

This plane comes with seperate flaps but the inside of the wings is not really made for open flaps. I decided to open the flaps but I didn't do any modifications to to inside of the wings.  

Pained the last interior detail 

Canopy fit is good but the inside glas hits the gun sight a bit. 

Masking the canopy. Much easier then the a6m2 I made before this. Really happy with the fit. 

Interior colour was sprayed first before I primed the whole plane. 

Black primer and preshading with white. 

Air intake fitted. 

Underside is painted in air superiority blue from ammo. 

Camo is masked. I left the horizontal stabilizers off for easier painting. 

Bright green from ammo is used for the main colour. really like the shade.

Preshading black is hard.  

Decals preformed good and having to apply only 6 is really nice. 

even the numbers on the tail did a good job conforming to the surface detail. 

masking the metalic detail. 

made the inside of the flaps a darker metalic colour becuase the detail is really bad. 

Some brown wash added to make a more weathered look for the exhaust. 

Dark brown ammo wash added to the whole plane except the nose. 

I really like the useability of these ammo washes. It's easy to clean and they look good. 

This is ammo wash sky grey and its used on the black nose. 

Radiator is drybrused with silver. 

After a matt coat is started some chipping with silver paint. 

I also made some chipping on the wooden wings and tail. I still need some practise on this. 

I used my airbrush for the exaust staining for the first time.  

I also faded the roundels for a more natural look on the decals. 

very hard to make this antenna. I drilled a hole in the fuselage to add the smaller antenna. 

final pieces added and its finised. I did make a mistake by putting the green and red landing lights on the wrong side. 

Almost finished still some final things to do. 

Some painted detail for the antenna cable. 

Faded the black paint with some light grey oil paint  

Finished!!! I also made a little base for it. I do like the end result and I learned alot.
