Agree with all the above comments - great paint-job and perfect presentation. Looks like there is a lot to see in the cockpit too 👍
A questions for the Author & the "Phantom lot" - would this configuration be actually practicable & used in action - full AA + 12 bombs for good measure? Not meaning anything against the model here, it looks pretty badass impressive, just out of interest...

Really nice rhino 🙂
@ Slavo, I've seen stranger loadouts on rhinos, so its feasible it could of been flown for a test

i hope the configuration is possible, because i did use the same! 😄 😄
I think I checked if that was possible or not, but can not be sure anymore
Of course, if somebody has a picture, you can demonstrate that it has been used at least once. in absence of that, who knows 🙂

How did you like the kit? I have an earlier kit release of this kit.

Tyu, F-4C's did have some differences to the B, I am fairly sure USAF played with some B's as test frames (24 or so IIRC) as they had been directed to evaluate it by McNamara. Plus, in I imagine as part of test programs (hence the oversize star an bar) they could have given it a coat of SEA.

The test program for the USAF with the Phantom was done in the early 60's, before the SEA camo came along. It was indeed using USN F-4Bs, but in Gull Gray over White. That was the scheme that USAF F-Cs wore when they were initially deployed to Vietnam in 1965. Prior to the joint service integration of aircraft designations, once selected and modified from the F-4B, the new USAF F-4B was to be the F-110 Specter.

Hi guys, thanks for all the replies. About the SEA camo, i know it is not historrically correct, but i could not find the C version anywhere here where i live. And since i really wanted a F-4 in that camo, i went for it.

@Treehugger, for the most part the kit went together ok, just a few hichups here and there. One being the upper to lower body fit at the back, just behind the wings that needed some work and also the front lower plate under the cockpit with has no locating tabs at all. I hope that makes sense, otherwise shoot me a msg and i try to explain better

Hi Tony, nice spook and awesome looking camo.
I've build the same kit years ago. As far as I remember you could build +/- also the C version out of this box. Ok the pit will be not 100% to the C but hey its modelling.
Congrats again to this nice plane and presentation.

Nothing against your model. It looks good, and the SEA camo paint job is quite well done. I understand your reasoning. Personally I've almost taken the opposite approach, taking a F-4C and painting it up as a F-4B because I could not get my hands on a F-4B kit. Anyways, the primary external visual difference between the B and the C is the wing. The C has a bulged thick inner wing to accommodate the wider tires and wheels specified by the USAF for their design. And of course there are all sorts of internal differences, plus all of the the external lumps and bumps that were added on over the years. In the end and it's your model to build and paint as you desire. Nice looking build, I do love the in flight display stand!
