Lookin' great so far David! Looks like you are well on your way with this one. Good call on the Liberty Bells... You using the Fightertown sheet? I will have a hard time deciding between the Bells and Screwtops when it comes time to build mine.

Thanks guys. Actually using kit markings. They say they are cartograph, but the seem a tad thick. We'll see how it goes.

Thanks James! Well the fit isn't bad, but it doesn't fall together either. The key is test fit, test fit, test fit! You do that and you should have no problems. I have used very little filler on this. I've heard horror stories on how bad the fit is on this, and I can see why if you rush thru the build. So pic one up! I'm thinking of getting another myself.

Looks awesome man! How are the kit decals? I am curious, since they are Cartograf printed...
I might end up doing two of them at some point, one in-flight and one on the ground. One Liberty Bells and one Screwtops. I love building in-flight models!

Thanks Michael! Well the decals themselves are pretty darn good. Lay down real well. BUT!! They aren't sizes correctly! Most notably for the "Bell's", the tail sunburst covers the fin de-ice boot. So they need to be trimmed after. Looks ok, but it's not quite right. And the navy/USS Kitty Hawk markings are too large. Makes for interesting placement on the right side due to the Windows. I almost called a halt to the build and source the Fightertown set. But I think I can live with the results, so I'm pressing on with what I have. Hope this helps !

Yup ! That's the same issue here. Great decals as you say. Not Cartograph's fault. They just print on the spec's they receive. Also.... Good to know about the Mirage Decals.... I actually bought that kit just for the decals for an Eduard build LOL

Good progress, shame about decals, you wonder if they test build anything before going to market when you find such obvious things
