Hi Andrew.

As an observer looking in on your build from the photo's posted, it doesn't reveal much wrong. But, from what your saying that the paint ran easily, I'm guessing you used, possibly, Tamiya's TS16 rattle can. Little tip, when spraying Tamiya TS colours straight from rattle can, it's best to spray in light mists 10 to 15 minutes apart, until a finish your happy with is achieved. This cuts down on runs in the paint. Even better is to decant the paint for use in an Airbrush, which gives much better control of the paint spraying. If you can post pics of the actual damage or PM them to me if you like. Then I might be able to assist in repair suggestions...

Thanks Steve. I'll pull the model out and try and get some new photos. I do use rattle tins, I have been thinking about investing in an airbrush but not sure if family finances will allow that indulgence, I'd also have to get it past the missus, no mean feat!! The main problem I found was trying to get even and consistent coats on I think it was 8/9 seperate bodywork pieces. Because I was spraying them individually, some got more (and ran), some got less. I've since read in a modelling book I brought to try and put all the pieces together in one area and spray them all at the same time, with short, light bursts. I've since used the manta of 'less is more' and tried doing more light coats, rather than one big one. Seems to have worked reasonably well since I put this together (Lexus LFA project a really good example and came out lovely). I've you don't mind I PM you photos of the other problems, glue related, and will welcome any suggestions you might have because at the moment, this one will probably be the first in the bin when my display case is full!!

Here's a good way of getting your girlfriend to give a green light on getting a airbrush 😉 Youtube Video

It's the compresser 😮😮😮 an oily, noisy and an unfeminine, unsightly mechanical lump that only a man could love... Mine's called "Compo"...😄
