WIP Dornier Do-335 A-1 ‘Pfeil’
I’ve always been attracted to the striking appearance of this aircraft. Different than others. In a quick view, the side view is also a bit like that predatory fish, the pike.
It’s my first WW2 prop aircraft ever, I’ve read that this one had mostly the RLM76/RLM81/RLM82 combi, so had to buy some paint jars and want to apply these colors as main colors.
I didn’t like the 1 piece cockpit decal that Tamiya offered with the kit. Tamiya chose a black IP, but there are a lot of pictures with RLM gray or even lighter or more a bluish gray. I chose Tamiya XF-22 with some white for this. As I don’t have a P&D set, I made a mix of not very precisely cutted out instruments from the kit and some modern instrument decals from Airscale (don’t tell anyone).
The throttle sticks look a bit like sliders from a DJ controlpanel, but I left it the way it’s molded.

I did a little wiring at the back of the instruments.
Not my best effort in this one, I’ve seen better recently of scalemate John from USA, but from 30 cm distance it’s ok for me this time…
Nothing special here in bomb bay and nose gear bay, just some weathering, won’t be very visible, even with her long legs.
Decided to lower the flaps, to give a little extra appearance to the large wing surfaces.
