Use tiny amounts of white wood glue instead of plastic cement for the canopy so it doesnt fog 😄

I do as playtime 222 proposed using "Ponal Express".

Washing might be an option - either sludge or pin-wash (see the youtube tutorials). With these new Airfixes and their quite deep panel lines it should be relatively easy. And it adds a bit of 3D look to the kits.
As already mentioned - definitely some PVA glue could help you with transparencies (e.g. Kristal Klear)

Kristal Klear - that's the pro version I couldnt remember the name of thanks.

Also, you did a good job getting the decals on. To hide the surrounding transparent film, the usual trick is to put a bit of gloss varnish on the whole model first, then the decals (and if they argue with you soften them with MicroSol - they go all crinkly at first but they settle) then spray whatever finish you need - matt, semi, gloss - over the top when they are dry.

Or cover the decalled kit with glossy varnish, wash it and seal matt afterwards 👍

Not very. Also probabkt better to keep the canopy masked up until you are all done

I really liked what you've created, but one thing I have to learn myself too, is how to get the canopy looking really shiny and clear. I too would welcome advice on that, please.

Lookup 'Dipping canopies in Future' on the search engine of your choice 😄
e.g. Youtube Video

In the UK 'Future' is now 'Pledge Revive' £14.50 from Amazon. I've just tried to add a pic of said product but don't know how???

You either need the pic URL or upload one into one of your albums.
Aside of Future there is a thing called gauzy agent - I use the orange one sometimes on rhe canopy when the model is finished. Looks like thinned gloss acrylic paint to me.

Austin, I like to paint, apply decals using MicroSol and then spray a light coat of gloss or semi-gloss. I find that oils adhere to semi-gloss better. Then I apply oil pin washes, followed by rusty/oily/dirty streaks ect with oils and a final coat of flat clear vanish.
I finish the model off with chalky dust, a pencil, powders and Tamiya detail sets, which look like make-up. 💄
Oh and I use wood glue for sticking down canopies.
But that's just my way... there are better model maker's than me that do it differently 🤔🤓
