Some progress pictures. There's also the 1/25 wheels comparison in here too. I've used moebius wheels, from the Lonestar kit, which I'm led to believe, are in the Moebius Tractor Wheel accessory kit?

While I think on...
The rear wheels fit on the stubs, really good. You'll have to make some slight adjustments for them though. The front axle is a different story. You'll either have to slightly sand down the stub axles, or alternatively drill the centre hole of the wheel, by approximately 0.5mm. I certainly wouldn't mount the backplate on the wheels, until you are happy with the fit.

Paint shop day. I'll see where this is going to take me?

Oh, you know I'm in on this one. Gonna make mine a day cab with tri-drive. I have played around with the idea of making all my trucks Highway/Town trucks but it might make my Herring Sanitation truck stick out (we were red back in the day but, thank you baby Jesus, Tom Cruise, and shake & bake, we switched to white. I have notoriously bad luck with red). I also (delusions of grandeur) wanna do a dropped and murdered out semi of some kind😜.
I can see the difference in tires. It answers a few questions. How about 1/24 to 1/25 trucks to trailers. To far off to be feasible? Sorry to be a pest with questions but, I got few options for kindred spirits here in Dutchess County.

A tri axle is easy to do, but a tri-drive will definitely need either a doner kit, or aftermarket parts. If you take a look at my green Eagles album, you'll notice the slight slope of the trailer? I don't see no reason why you couldn't put 1/24 wheels on any trailer though? For a slammed truck, you really have to open your mind and go crazy. I've seen a few suggestions and the best I can say is, "00 watch this space! 00 lol

Following. I have another triple drive bouncing around in my noggin.

Bill, this is an excellent kit. Obviously, everyone has their own way of doing things, but I find that glueing both sides of the cab, to the front, then allowing it to dry, is much easier than fiddling around with all 4 sides at once? Once you put the interior in, you can then add the rear panel and touch up the interior paint, where necessary? Then I just tape off all the windows and hit the exterior with paint. Extending the chassis on these, is pretty easy too. Just take your time and study the instructions, so you know where to cut. Personally though, to make your life easier, I'd go with a Tag axle with this. The Italeri back axles, are a pain to replicate, unless you have a spare lay around somewhere?

How many of these things do you build simultaneously?

I think that I have about 5 trucks on the go, right now, and a couple of cars mate? I like to keep busy, instead of waiting for paint and glue to dry? However, I have to admit, I need to be in the zone, for decals. I seriously hate decals! I'd rather airbrush stripes and murals, than faff around with decals.

Bozzer, I too, do multiple builds to forgo the waiting for paint and glue to dry. BMF and decals are my favorite tasks. Painting a close 2nd but only if it turning out.

I'm the same. I have 5 going at once ( not counting my shelf queens ) at different stages. Also, different genres, too. Gotta have my different stages, one in build one a step from paint, one painted, waiting for decals, one in weathering, and one in basing/diorama. The I have my stash on different levels of predicted building. Example: Three M48's in various strangest. One otb, one with aftermarket sandbags and stowage and, one going into a diorama with a ton of figs, etc. We hobbyists always stay busy. Well, anyway….my favorite stage is weathering. Gives me a funny feeling, like climbing the rope in gym class🫣

Call me weird but i am only building on one Project at a time. I only start a new one when the old one is finished. When i buy a new kit i usually build it straight away. This is how i keep my stash very small...

I'm all for that too Dennis. It's just that when I'm in my cave, I'm in the zone, and I need to be doing something? I can't sit in there and watch paint and glue dry. If I start something in the house, I can watch TV, but I don't have anything, including a radio, in the cave? My sole concentration is on my builds.

Just a few update pictures. The colour is Tamiya Metallic Grey. It's a very odd colour, in respect of the light? It's had me chasing shadows, during the painting session. Needless to say, it's coming together fast now. I'll update the pictures again soon. I actually thought that I already had, but I must've been thinking about something else, lol.

when painting metallic colors i have found that it is better to paint crosswise. So one layer vertically and then horizontally. this way you can be sure that the metallic pigments are aligned evenly. so there should be no shadows (someone who paints cars once told me).

nice progress, keep it up!

Appreciate your input Dennis. I'll keep that in mind, for the future. It's a great colour, but it was bloody hard work.

No worries Brandon. Glad you like the progress. I'm kinda juggling builds at the moment, but ain't that what we do best? Lol 😉

Yes I've missed this one so far too. Shocking bad form. I'm in the multiple builds camp myself as well

Hahaha, not a problem Kyle. We're all busy, and summer is here too, so don't worry. This one is nearly complete too.

Nice one Bozzer. I do like the colour, you can be proud.
I max out at 2 builds simultaneously, due to space limitations.

Martin, the new cave is underway. Sadly, my old one has become too small 🙁 When I get some real progress, I will take some pictures and create an album. I can only work on it at weekend, weather permitting, but I'm hopeful that it will be standing, in the next 4 weeks. Hence why I'm also trying to get some builds finished, in the meantime? I don't want to start losing parts.
