I inadvertently cropped it out but you can see it in one of the reference photos (I added those later) that there is a big MercedesBenz symbol on the radiator cap.

Ok. More research done. It is NOT a Mercedes Benx, but a Mittlerer Einheits PKW Horch 901; with a Mercedes radiator cap for some reason.
