Clifford KeeslerWelcome Slavo, Gordon and James. Thank you Slavo. The fuselage is all closed up and puttied where required. Wheel wells are done and installed. The only complaint I have with this kit is the instructions. They are hard to follow sometimes. They are not version specefic, but kind of general. So I messed up the aft speed brake. I was going to display it open, so used the part for the open speed brake, only to find out the version I am building (with the ventral cannon) cannot have the aft speed brake open, so had to cut that part back out and install the closed speed brake. It is also armed with 4 R-3S missiles, which the kit supplies but only supplies 2 pylons for them. So I will have to rob the other 2 from my other Mig-21PFM.

Clifford KeeslerThank you very much Augie, Kerry, Munkyslut and Jos. Welcome aboard. I will get some updated pictures up tomorrow I hope. The wings are on now, and most of the weapons are built. Waiting on Resin wheels to arrive, then will build the gear. Stencil set arrived today. The weekend version has only the Polish national markings and IP decals, no stencil data for the Airframe or weapons.

Clifford KeeslerThanks again. I have one of the revell one's also, but I have a photo etch set for it, as well as a resin seat and wheels. When I build it I will re-scribe the panel lines and add some extra details. I have an album of one I built awhile ago that I did in U.S. aggressor markings. A kind of what if.

Clifford KeeslerThank you James and Nathan. This one has been such a nice build. It is ready for primer already, No problems at all, just a small touch of putty here and there and that has been just a dab of acrylic putty. Just wipe away excess with a damp q-tip. This is my first Edudard build, and I am most impressed.

Clifford KeeslerThank you Augie, I plan on only a thin coat of gloss black as this one is NMF. Thank you for Roland. It sure has been a far cry from what I am used to building. LOL.

Clifford KeeslerThank you very much Nathan and Jos, for your kind words. She has her legs now, and clear coat is applied. Almost ready for decals. I don't care much for the Vajello metal, dark aluminium, It appears to dark to me. I think I will add a touch of white alum. before I use it again.

AugieWow clifford 🙂 thats coming on really well far further that mine... your in stencil hell, I am in paint hell.. trying to find right base colour, the suggested mix is a little too lite for my tastes...

Clifford KeeslerThank you very much Tim, Augie, Roland, Maciej and James for your very kind words. I have only the under wing stencils left to do, then I can start finishing up this beast. All 3 of my son's discovered the Revell Top Gun F-14 and F-18. So they all 3 showed up at my door with one of each, so now I have 3 F-18E's and 3 F-14A's to build. So I am going to be in "Top Gun Hell" for quite awhile after this Mig. LOL.

Clifford KeeslerApplied the wash today. Lesson learned, do not install landing gear or weapons pylons befor weathering. I broke both nose gear doors off, both main gear inner doors off, the left main gear and the air data probe. Ouch!!

Clifford KeeslerI will never do it again. Weathering done. Letting the oil paints dry for a couple of days, then it's install and make some new final bits. Then final clear coat.

Clifford KeeslerI added the weapons and external fuel tanks yesterday. I just need to finish painting the seat and add the final bits.

@ breaking parts off - I try to keep everything apart as long as possible, unless the connection does not have to be seamless or filled. Which introduces a whole new world of possibilities from the "losing parts" department 🙂

Clifford KeeslerThank you very much Slavo for your kind words. I do not know why I put the small bits on when I did, I usually leave all that stuff off untill the end. This one got it's final clear coat today. All that is left is to install the canopy. I will get some new pictures up tomorrow.
