A-10C Warthog with detail kits - progress
The initial collection of kit and details.
First assembly completed.
Cockpit and pilot painted.
GAU8 detail installed.
I cut and bent regular office staples to make an approximation of sway braces for the hardpoints
Primed and ready!
4th time's the charm. Got the two tone paint scheme right where I want it. Good air brush practice if nothing else.
Gloss coat down, decals down.
Weathered. Learned a lot. Lost a couple decals in the process.
Satin clear coat on the Hog. Installed the wheels and engines. Weapon details painted. Did some post shading since my preshading was lost in all the painting.
It was actually fun hand painting the metal straps on the bombs. I also used the knowledge that Mr Color thinner is very aggressive to mix the airbrushed metal gray with paint brushed, thinned olive green to get the anodized green look of the sidewinders warheads.
