Thank you so much guys! In my opinion, the RAF Tornados in desert pink and the Tornados of the German Navy (MFG1) in Norm 76 are the coolest Tornados ever. The Saudi ones in desert camouflage are also cool, but somehow less popular. I will definitely do a Saudi one too, maybe next year.

I guess I will have no choice than to gather all of them in one album soon.

Excellent job Marius. It has been an inspiration for a new project I'm going to embark in. Any advice on getting this accurate 'Desert Storm' colour?

Try Xtracrylix XA1032 Gulf War Desert Pink FS10279 or Xtracolor X032 RAF Desert Pink Gulf War enamel. Also check out this forum, there are interesting comments from RAF members who applied the paint during that conflict. britmodeller.com/for..5-desert-pink-paint/

Thank you all for the feedback and interest! 🥳

@ Francis: I used Alclad ALCE024 RAF Desert Pink Enamel. It has almost the right dilution for the airbrush, but unsuitable and unusuable for a regular brush. For weathering I used Burnt Amber Oil which goes very well with the RAF Desert Pink. And by the way, the RAF Desert Pink color has nothing to do with the Desert Pink applied on vehicles in WWII.

@Bernd: I am light years away from creating any masterpiece (especially when I see what jewels others here can make), but I highly appreciate it. 👍🙂

Album info

The RAF Tornados (Gr.1) of the Gulf War require close to no new presentation. Their cool desert pink painting combined with with the frequent nose art made them famous.
The Tornado GR.1s were deployed from the very first moments of Operation Desert Storm.

Hereby the "MiG Eater" ZA447/EA, which was later proven to be rather the "Mirage Eater".

The "MiG Eater" survived the Gulf War and returned home with severe weathering, patina and chipped paint. My model represent rather an earlier version of the "MiG Eater" before being so much affected by the elements or operations.

My model is equiped with two Paveway II bombs and two Sidewiders, a configuration in which the Tornados were often seen back then.
